You know that feeling you get when you step into an old, familiar place? The same one you get when you smell the scent of your mother’s perfume or step out to a sudden crisp in the morning air that signals fall is coming? The spot, the scent, the sight – they could all be meaningless to everyone around you, but for you, it triggers memories and a deep sense of connection.
It even happens when we reflect on our glory days in high school or step into our grandmother’s kitchen. We are overcome with nostalgia; this incredibly powerful and beautiful feeling. It ignites moments of reflection, inspiration, and has the power to connect us with others.
In the city of Chicago, whether a person chooses to rent or buy, cultivating community rather than isolating oneself is necessary for creating long-standing memories. Despite the varying opinions, Millennials especially value people and relationships. They think of others and don’t keep to themselves. They cast a big vision for their future and see it through. That’s exactly why I loved working with Amy and Brandon.
I met Amy and Brandon through one of my very first clients from years prior who sent them my way. They were looking to buy a property not because they plan to stay in one spot forever necessarily, but because they wanted a place to call home and to create rich memories together.
What stood out to me from the beginning of our search was their desire not only to create these meaningful experiences for themselves, but for everyone they care about.
In Logan Square, which was still up and coming at the time, we found the most incredible home at an insanely reasonable price. The crazy part is that it wasn’t even on the market yet, so we were able to swoop in before anyone else!
With a gorgeous rooftop and immensely spacious living and dining room area, it was a winner for this couple who longed to host gatherings for family and friends.
Since the purchase of their home, Amy and Brandon got engaged and married and even held a beautiful farewell wedding brunch on their rooftop patio. They regularly use their extra bedroom to host Amy’s mom and others who come from California to visit. They also began a tradition of an annual New Year’s Day brunch with friends!
Amy and Brandon have invested many hours into making their condo the most beautiful home for entertaining. They made a purchase that has elevated their lives and created a place for beautiful and nostalgic memories to be made – not just for them but for all who know them.
At Chicago Home Collective, we not only want to help you land the home of your dreams, we want to give you a place where relationships blossom, friends ring in the New Year together, and nostalgia follows.
